Absorption of Iron - With regard of a series of research, results have shown that drinking of tea can reduce the absorption of the non – haem iron present in cereals, vegetables, nuts and pulses. Yet, tea is not dedicated to absorption of the haem iron found in meat.

Those with poor iron status normally adolescent girls and women between 18 and 49, and those over 75 are fairly advised to avoid drinking tea with meal and least one hour after meals in order to minimise the risk of reduced iron – absorption.
