Plucking and Processing
A fine cuppa begins as a fresh bud and two leaves of the highest shoots
of a tea bush, plucked and gathered at a tea plantation somewhere on a
cool hilly terrain of the mountains of Darjeeling/Nilgiri or the plains
of Dooars, Assam, Terai in India.
The collected harvest is taken to the factories, where it is withered
for eighteen to twenty hours. After that, the leaves are then crushed,
and the leaves loose their green colour through an oxidation process.
Fermentation happens next, a process which decides the tea’s flavour.
Finally tea leaf passes through a high temperature dryer and it is ready
for the next step to become a perfect cup of tea.
Carefully selected teas are next blended by our experienced tea blending
team to create the best tasting teas.
