Tea Cultivation - In India, Tea is cultivated using Contour planting method, where the tree bushes are planted in lines, which run along the contours of the land. Tender tea plants are frequently cut 10 -15 cm from the ground to encourage lateral growth. The plants are pruned regularly to prevent them from becoming trees, and almost 1m in height. Pruning methods differ within the axis of the country, but the procedure is always performed with a sharp device, especially a knife, as the tea bush is restricted to damage during the cycle of cultivation fulfilling the basis requirements of the tea bushes and treating the soil in which they grow are integral part of cultivation. Regular and appropriate amount of use of fertilizer secures healthy growth of the plant. |
